Hometown Heroes
We are looking for interested citizens who would be willing to take over running Harrisville Hometown Heroes. With my husband, Jereme's cancer back for a third time, and impending treatments etc., Jereme and I do not have the time to manage this group any longer. If you are interested, please private message one of us through our Harrisville Hometown Heroes Facebook group. We would like to thank all who have supported Hometown Heroes and hope that it will still do great things for our community. It has been our pleasure to serve all of you.
Thank you

One of our community members, Floyd “Pug” Reader, came up with the idea to try to do more as a community to honor our Veterans and Service Members. His amazing idea was put into action in 2022 when we completed our first order of 45 Honor Flags. Our second order of Honor Flags has been completed with 85 more flags to add to last years order, totally 130 Honor Flags, with 129 flags going up this year. There were a few reprints required, and we had to wait for some extra hardware to be sent, but soon all Flags will be up to honor our hometown heroes. Once all flags are up, to include the reprints, new pictures will be uploaded here. By Memorial day there were 127 flags up. The town looks amazing with all of our brave men and women in uniform lining our streets.
We are in a hold pattern as of right now for when the next order cycle will take place. The company we order from is restructuring their pricing and can't get a quote to us until December. We also have to get all the light poles counted to see how many more are available to hang honor flags from. So the next flag order cycle, IF possible, will not be until next year.
Moving forward, for our organization to be a success, and to be able to do some more projects, we would like to add to our membership of three! We need more members!! If you are interested you can message us via our Facebook group page, Harrisville Hometown Heroes.
If you would like to make a donation to Harrisville Hometown Heroes, for future projects, you can do so via check, money order, or cash. These donations can be dropped off at the Town of Diana clerk's office during normal business hours, or after hours via the secure drop box located by the Town of Diana Courtroom doors. Checks and Money orders would be made out to Harrisville Hometown Heroes.
You can request to join the group via Facebook, by searching Harrisville Hometown Heroes. Watch the page for more updates, future projects, and future Harrisville Hometown Heroes meetings. We hope to see more faces and helping hands, ready and wanting to give back to our community!
If you have any questions, you can email us at [email protected] or message us through the Facebook Group, Harrisville Hometown Heroes.
